My account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't
Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned out all deleted items, but it makes no difference. I have been unable to contact any sort of support through the website, so am hoping someone might know how to fix this. Thanks.

Hi @Megan, yes unfortunately they are the same email address.
Emails are being sent to the same email address that I am using to log into Dropbox with.
I didn't consider that possibility at first, good call to check it out!
In some of the emails there's a link to a dropbox-page:
https://www.dropbox.com/low-space
Here it states that I'm using 3.71GB out of my 2GB plan. But in reality I have 8.3GB storage capacity.
When I look at the account page on Dropbox it shows how much storage capacity I actually have available.

Hi helenpcherry, let's jump right into this!
I assume when you mention that there's nothing in your Dropbox account, you've also checked your Backups to make sure the feature isn't enabled, right?
Let me know more!

Hi jarlefo, thanks for the info!
If your plan page online shows the 8GB of storage you should be having, then you're definitely safe to ignore the emails.
It's most likely a false alarm.

i could not find anything where a back up would be. i looked up backup and it said back up on the Mac. my desktop shows 272.61 GB available
there are no photos there and a few screen shots saves. no camera uploads its almost empty! i have looked on dropbox.com and there is nothing to delete.

Dear all: I posted this OVER SIX MONTHS AGO. Please take a look at the date before responding. However goodwill there is in the air, and I know that, it is just noise. And we don't want noise, do we?

Hey helenpcherry, if you checked the Backup page I provided above, and it said your Mac is backing up to Dropbox, then this might be it.
Can you try to disable it, using these steps? Also, what does your plan page online report?

Le mie cartelle archiviate in DROPBOX assommano a 2.94 GB.
Il sistema invece mi segnala continuamente “Effettuare upgrade per ottenere più spazio, 15.3 GB di 15.8 GB di archiviazione utilizzati”.
Non so come venirne a capo, chiedo aiuto.
