Cannot establish a secure connection after dropbox update to 111.4.472
After the dropbox app (Window 10) updates itself to the latest 111.4.472 version, I'm getting this 'Cannot establish a secure connection'.
I've checked my time on my laptop, router. It's fine. I've disabled firewalls and the whole Eset Security. I've checked my ports. Everything is fine. I've turned off the proxy setting inside app. Scanned my system for viruses, nothing fount. The only solution is to revert back to the older version, but if I do so, the app will update itself so I'm at the beginning.
I've just received some news that I'd like to share with you all here!
It appears that ESET has fixed the problem that was causing this error.
For anyone running ESET on their device, please update to the most recent version of ESET to update to the software.
Once you've done this, you should be fine to revert back to the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop app. You can install this from here.
Otherwise, you can just allow the app to auto-update to the latest stable when a new version is released.
Let me know how it goes!

I've installed beta version, as @Daphne suggested, and now all is working.
I'll wait for new official version.

I started getting thias same thing this past Friday Dec. 4th. I last used it Nov. 27th. I also get "can't establish secure internet connection". At one point I got message "No internet connection, Please connect to internet". But this is NOT true, as everything else on my computer works fine on the net.
In light of your suggestions that it is caused by my Antivirus, I contacted them(ESET) and they advised me to troubleshoot by temporairily pause the protection and then try loading Dropbox again. I did just that. Recieved same message about "can't establish secure internet connecction".
I also have Dropbox loaded on my Android phone and my Android tablet, also both have ESET protection. There are no issues withg them at this time. Just with my laptop on Windows 10.....yes has the latest "critical" updates.
Please help.

Hi Ricardoalmendra, thanks for joining the Community!
Could you confirm what anti-virus software you're running on your device? Have you tried settings the date and time to be manual, or automatic?
Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!

Thanks for the info, asuss06, I've merged you to a thread with similar queries. Could you try installing the beta version of the app here.

Afternoon all
Came to report same issue. Date and time is correct, no proxy settings. Keep changing Proxy in prefrences from Auto to off, but it reverts back when I exit Dropbox and then reopen.
Turned off automatically detect settings in Windows 10 settings. The setting in dropbox constantly reverts back to auto. Saw the post about trying the beta build. Will check that out now.
Edit - Worked!
