Dropbox beta (193.3.7470) on macOS is a disaster
Installed 193.3.7470 on mac (as prompted) - and it has not been a happy experience
- I can't use the "send feedback" option in the app as it goes to a "permission denied page"
- I can't seem to link two accounts at the same time without one of the folders disappearing
- the new UI seems to show files as both sync'd (green tick) but also "not downloaded" (cloud with a down arrow) at the same time
- it's taken me hours to even get files downloaded
I know this is a "beta" but I would have assumed that dropbox wouldn't be rolling it out this widely when still so dangerously unfinished.

Sorry to hear about your experience, shadlx.
To look into this further, and log your feedback with our team, can you open your desktop app preferences and go to your Sync tab? I'd like you to clarify what's the current location of your local Dropbox folder that shows there. From the syncing icons you mention, it sounds like you’re using Dropbox for macOS on File Provider, but I’d like to confirm with your Dropbox folder’s location.
I’d also like a screenshot of the error you’re getting when trying to log your feedback on your end.
As for pairing your two Dropbox accounts, is one of them a Business account and the other personal? Are you completing all the steps to connect them with no issues and then, one of the two Dropbox folders just disappears?
Let me know, and we’ll go from there.

Hello
In the course of installing the update my dropbox folder seems to have moved into ~/Library/CloudStorage
I originally got an error saying that "my dropbox folder had moved" and was prompted to re-link. After doing this it all got into a mess around getting the accounts to install. I finally managed to get my personal account to work by removing my business account - I will need to try adding the business account back to see if it breaks everything again..

No worries. Please let me know if something happens again this time, and we can have a look.

Hmm, so I tried signing into my business account - went through the process. Dropbox now seems to be claiming it's downloading 2TB of data (which will be interesting when I only have 100gb of space), but says that the business account is still logged out. It's also unclear where it's downloading that data to as the business account isn't currently appeaing anywhere in finder

OK, so I tried again - this time using the sign in option in the adanced tab, Dropbox seemed to first move the existing Personal folder into /Dropbox(Personal) and created the folder structure for my business account. but then popped up saying "cannot communicate with the helper application" and removed the business folder and restored personal back to just being in a "Dropbox" folder

Ah no correction, personal stuff still seems to be in "Dropbox-Personal" but the business one has gone away again

Thanks for checking this, shadlx! In this case, what I’d suggest next is to update your Dropbox app to the latest stable version instead of the beta one.
To do this, you’ll need to disable early releases here, and then download our stable version from this link.
Let me know if that seems to help.

Thanks - yeah I've done that now, dropbox still says it's the same version number but I'm no longer in the beta programme and File Provider is turned off. It seems File Provider is not yet fully ready?

Hey shadlx, thanks for giving it a go!
Are you able to pair your accounts now?
As for File Provider, we're still working on the full roll-out, and there are different factors contributing to how each user's account and device will be onboarded.

yeah - rolling back to the non-file provider version seems to have solved all my problems
