I see no status column after updating my Dropbox app on Windows 11.
Application Affected
Dropbox
Device
PC
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
Windows 11
Dropbox App Version (if using the app)
237.4.5655
Question or Issue
After Dropbox upgraded to the current version, my status icons are still on the file icons and there is no status column. Tried rebooting my computer and re-installing (did not uninstall) the current version and no change.

I have contacted Dropbox support about the issue and after a number of back and fourths through email, they appear clueless on what is happening and give me all kinds of excuses.

Ok. What is strange is that I also have Dropbox on my laptop with much fewer files synced and when it updated, the status icons moved to the status column in explorer.

In order to receive the new update, your account would need to meet the minimum requirements as stated in that article my colleague posted previously.
Until that happens, it wouldn't be possible to change the icons in Explorer.

No, I am not planning on deleting any files from my Dropbox account.
How do I get the updated status Icons?

Hi Tinkerman61, the number of 500k files means the number of files currently on your Dropbox account, and not the number of files you choose to sync to your computer.
Are you planning on deleting files from your Dropbox account online in order to reduce the number to below 500k files in total?

Current syncing status is Up to Date.
I have 607,534 files in the Dropbox folder which is over the 500k limit noted in the Windows update document, so I assume this is the reason the status icons were not updated. If I lower the number of syncing files below the 500k limit, what do I need to do to trigger the status icon change?

Thanks for clarifying! Can you also let me know what’s the current syncing status of your Dropbox app?
I’d also like you to right-click on your local Dropbox folder, go to its Properties, and tell me the number of files that are currently saved within.
