Thanks, parikc! What I want you to try next is an advanced reinstall of your Dropbox app.
Let me know how that goes.

Dropbox.
DropboxInstaller.exe.

Translation:
The problem went away after simply uninstalling Dropbox using Windows and reinstalling it again, without the advanced installation method.
As I understand it, Windows somehow uninstalled it incorrectly. I uninstalled it using Windows a long time ago, about a year and a half ago. I uninstalled it after Dropbox stopped working for some unknown reason. Reinstalling it using the standard method didn't help. But I managed to install it using the advanced installation method on October 12th. Dropbox apparently registered itself again. But it still wouldn't start and returned an error. Today, I decided to fix the problem by reinstalling it using the advanced installation method, following the instructions.
- Uninstalled Dropbox using Windows.
- I looked in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" but couldn't find the "Dropbox" folder in the "SOFTWARE" and "WOW6432Node" folders.
- I looked in "%LOCALAPPDATA%" and didn't find the "Dropbox" folder.
- I also didn't find the "Dropbox" folder in the other steps of the instructions.
- I ran DropboxInstaller.exe.
- The program launched without a hitch.
- Shock! 🙀
PS: Maybe someone will find my information useful.
