Excel sharing violations when saving to Dropbox
I just started having problems saving Excel files to Dropbox yesterday.
First, I get this message:
Then when I click select, I get this:
Then when I click okay, I get this:
Then it creates a temporary file, which I can’t find, and if I try close the Excel file, I get the same series of messages. What is going on?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, ECRFF.
Can you try to give Dropbox full disk access on your computer, to see if that helps?
Keep me posted.

Thanks, I gave Dropbox full disk access and also updated by Microsoft Excel app, and it seems to be working now.
Thanks for your help!

I am having exactly the same problem as outlined by ECRFF. I created a large, complex file today and need to save it somehow. Please could you help?

Hey Janine45 - sorry to hear about this.
Could you clarify the size of the file, and send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting?

When I access the files through the web instead of on my local drive, I can see the updates so I think it's ok. I made an excel file copy just in case though and that won't save to Dropbox locally or my desktop so I think the issue is with Excel. If I can see the file updates online on Dropbox will they definitely be there if I abandon the Excel copy in order to check the Excel status?
