My Dropbox seems to be in a fight with Windows Search indexer! Dropbox indexes... when it finishes, windows will start... then Dropbox indexes again! And so on and son on... been happening for a couple of weeks now, and its slowing down my machine and making file explorer hard to use. Turning off windows indexer seems to cause other issue with searching on the laptop... and I cant stop DB from indexing! Has anyone had, and fixed, this issue?
Hey @foxmanchester, sorry to see you're having trouble with this.
Can you hover over the Dropbox icon in your system tray and let us know which version of the app you're running and what the exact sync status is?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Hannah, thanks for coming back to me.
Its 172.4.7555
When you say Sync status, where can I find that please?
No worries!
The sync status will be the message appearing along with the Dropbox version, when hovering over the Dropbox icon.

It had finished indexing when I sent you the version number... and now its started doing it again
Thanks for checking, @foxmanchester.
If you simply reinstall the Dropbox app, without uninstalling it first, does it help at all?

Hi Hannah
Sadly it hasn't worked. Back on indexing today 😞
Sorry to hear that, @foxmanchester. 😕
When you check the sync status, does it give you a number of files it's indexing or does it simply say "indexing"?
How long has it been like this? And if there's a number of files indexing, does the number seem to reduce or is it completely stuck?
