My iPod is trying to sync to Dropbox and I paused sync, but it's stuck

For some reason Dropbox is trying to sync with my iPod  when I connected it to my Windows computer. I wanted to stop it, pressed pause but it doesn't seem to have paused at all: it just says 'pausing' over an hour later. My computer won't let me disconnect the iPod as it is still connecting. How can I either stop the pause (and wait till it has synced all my music, groan) or get it to stop properly.

Help please!

    Thanks for the update here!

You might get another prompt to back up your iPod the next time you plug it in to your computer, but you should be able to cancel that.

  • How did you get it to pause? I tried that and over 1 hour later it is still saying Pausing so I can't do anything else?

Hey Arabella Music maniac, thanks for reaching out!

From what I can understand, you've enabled the Dropbox backup feature, when you connected the iPod to your computer.

And you pressed the sync status on the Dropbox icon to pause syncing, but it got stuck on 'pausing', am I right? Is it still stuck like this?

If you hover your mouse over the Dropbox icon in your system tray, what do you see?

    Keep me posted.

I saw it just said updating 1300 odd files 39 hours but that's all, and that didn't change over time. So I uninstall Dropbox following a recommendation I saw later from someone else, and have been able to extract my iPod and update jt. When I reinstall Dropbox, what should I do to make sure it doesn't try to sync with my iPod? I really don't want it to, and don't know why it did this time as I don't recall enabling it, it just told me it was doing it!
