Duplicate File Cleaner / Removal / Override

Duplicate File Cleaner / Removal / Override

This is like vacuuming your house or office. Do you guys go without it for years on end? It's hard to believe this critical and essential feature does not exist. I currently have multiple folders that can be merged easily on windows, but not on Dropbox. One thing the Dropbox developers have to understand is that business accounts have larger amount of files on Dropbox than on their systems, and because of the painful speed of upload and download and the limitation of files that can be transferred at once (3000 files), it is not possible to do this on the desktop side. So there has to be a house cleaning tool that allows for maintenance and merging of duplicate folders and files. You can even find this on your phone these days. It is hard to imagine Dropbox for business customers do not have this option.

1. Find duplicate files

2. Compressing function for photos and video online

     You can refer Caesium ( https://saerasoft.com/caesium/ )

As a user with much more space in Dropbox than I have locally, I would greatly appreciate an online feature to find duplicate media files without downloading them all, for ongoing housekeeping purposes.

Would like to see a button that removes duplicate pictures in dropbox.

There are so many duplicate files that are created or saved by accident.  This not only gets confusing, but takes up a lot of space.

There should be a scrubber that cleans up and removes duplicate files at the user's request.

I have tons of photos and videos and other files. Is there a way to scan the whole dropbox and identify which files are duplicated then automate the process of the clean up or deletion. For example dropbox to search and identify all duplicate files and then ask me if I want to delete the duplicates and which version to keep and then it goes and repeat the same for all files? Can you do that ?

2016 this post was from originally wow Devs. good thing your listening to the users, still not there yet. Huge need for this tool! My Opinion. looking at the date of this post and seeing that there is still not, a tool is ridiculous. Im a newbie to DBox. after several crashes I inadvertently uploaded multiples of many pictures. great theres a check box but I have thousands of photos to go through. Check box is great for files, not great for photos.

It's ridicoulous why this is so hard to do dropbox has a huge flaw in that you end up with duplicates and the confusing way dropbox explains it's file use. Online computer only sync etc

You should be able to have a functional way to delete duplicates, an individual couldn't possibly go through every photo. I believe you haven't created this function in an effort to get users to buy more space. Please provide this function.
