Dropbox says I'm over my limit yet my calculations show I'm well within my limit!

When I highlight and view the property details, it shows I have 11BG of space used yet DB says I'm using 44GB which is above my 30GB limit.

Anyone know what's going on??

Cheers,

Greg

Hi @Caprice, sorry to jump in here!

Any shared folders (that were created by you, or someone else) count against your account's storage.

Yes, it would help with your storage if you remove yourself from any unwanted shared folders. You can find the steps here.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi @Caprice, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Is it possible that you have a backup on your account, or a member of a large shared folder?

You can see if the quota is in private or shared folders from this page.

This will help me to assist further!

Thanks Jay,

When you say "shared", is that shared from me to others or when I have been added to a folder created on another Dropbox account?

If I delete any folder I have shared from my end, does this reduce the data usage for me or do I need to delete for everyone?

2/3 of my data usage is "shared".
