Account Access

Dropbox Plan - Plus, Personal Account Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? iPhone, Macbook Pro Question or Issue I have had a dropbox account at least 5-10 years if not more. Recently a non-profit group that I was associated with experimented with the TEAM aspect of their free Dropbox account. I was an "invited" member. I was not involved in setting it up. About 3 months ago they upgraded to a new account and disabled the free account and removed all "invited" accounts. Since that happened I no longer have access to my files on my personal dropbox account. I can see them in the side bar of my apple finder under DROPBOX-PERSONAL, but they are not syncing and when I click a file I get an error message: Your device couldn’t connect to the server. There may be a problem with the server or network. I have upgraded my account to Dropbox Plus so that I could get support plus more space. I would like to get my files back now. I'd like to know how to re-link my files to my account. The account name remains the same - same email address. Please help. Thank you.88Views0likes13CommentsI've accidentally joined a Dropbox team, thinking it was a client sharing a file
Ive been using Dropbox to run my subscription business for 7+ years. Yesterday, I inadvertently clicked on a link thinking it was a shared folder with a client. I have now joined their team, and my acvpunt has merged with theirs. They have ALL my business/tax information and client files. Ive tried to contact them to no avail, I don't think they'd used Dropbox before, and don't really know what they're doing. My account has hundreds of subscriber folders, all linked to specific URLs, so I cant lose my account. I've been a paying customer for years, however support so far has been non-existent, stating that i must contact this non-contactable "admin" for them to restore... potentially DELETE my entire account. I really need my account separated ASAP, my entire business and livelihood depend on it. I can't believe something so catastrophic comes with no warnings! If anyone can please help, I'll be forever in your debt.36Views1like1CommentI need help accessing my Dropbox account. No access to email, so I can't receive the security code.
Subject: Urgent Account Recovery Request – Lost Gmail Access Hello Dropbox Support, My Dropbox account is registered under the email address [email removed as per Community Guidelines]. I have lost access to this Gmail account and cannot receive verification codes. I attempted the recovery form multiple times, but it now says I have tried too many times and instructs me to contact support. I have always used the free Dropbox plan. To help verify ownership, here are details I can provide: - Devices I used with Dropbox: [list PC names, phone models] - Shared folders/files I remember: [list names] - Contacts I shared with: [list emails if possible] - Any old Dropbox emails/screenshots I still have - Approximate date I created the account: [month/year] I kindly request that you manually verify my account and update the linked email to a new one I control, so I can regain access to my files. Thank you for your assistance, Freddy81Views0likes7CommentsCan't access account under deleted email
Hi, I had made a dropbox account in 2015 or 2016 under a now deleted email address that I no longer have access to. I can sign into the account, but cannot get past as it asks for a password reset, or sign-in code.. something of the sort. The point is, whatever it sends to the email, it is deleted and I cannot retrieve what is necessary to sign-in. This account might be the last place on earth to house invaluable pieces of my teenage years that I would like to retrieve. Is it at all possible to regain access given my situation? Thanks for reading, Trent C51Views0likes4CommentsCan I access my old Dropbox account on my new PC?
Question or Issue I have a new Dell All-in-One PC to replace my prior that is no longer supported by Microsoft. It comes with basic Dropbox. My prior PC had Dropbox with more capacity than my new one. New capacity limits prevent me from transferring my old Dropbox storage to my new machine. I thought I might be able to access my old Dropbox account on my new machine and access files that way but I can't figure out how. Is there some way I can merge the two Dropbox versions so that I have access to the Dropbox capacity and files that I had on my old PC?69Views0likes2CommentsNot receiving the 6-digit security code so I can't access my account.
I'm trying to log in to my computer, but I never receive the confirmation code, even after waiting several minutes. It's not in my spam or junk mail folder, and I've added no-reply@dropbox.com to my contacts, but I'm still not receiving the code. Could you please help me recover my account? I'm very worried.57Views0likes1CommentWhy am I not receiving a verification code to my email anymore when trying to log in?
Hi! When logging in to the website, it used to send a verification code to my email. Now it only prompts the Dropbox app to authenticate log in, or via sms. It used to send to email but now I don't see it an an option. How to i add using email as login authentication option? Why does dropbox send send to the Dropbox app to. Authenticate log in? I don't remember changing it to that. Did this change at some point or did I change the setting without realizing it. Thanks!94Views0likes10CommentsCan I set up 2-Factor Authentication with no cell phone?
Hi, I would like to make my Dropbox account more secure, so I tried to set up the 2-factor authentification. However, I have no cell phone, so I can't set it up. There is no option for a desktop-based authentificator (like KeepPassXC), nor for Dropbox to call me on a landline phone. What do you suggest I do to make my account more secure, if I don't have a cell phone? Thanks.40Views0likes2Comments
