No longer able to view a shared folder on iPhone.
Hello, I have always been able to view a shared folder for free, without upgrading. It seems something has changed and there's many of us using iphone, unable to access and view a shared a folder for...

Hi Hannah, thank you for your response.
I think the main issue people are having is based on folder size. Whether the folder is shared or a view only link is shared, it seems that if the content exceeds the 2GB free account limit, users without premium storage are unable to view it. Through some trial and error, I found out that if below the 2GB limit, you can view shared folders or links. The issue being presented here is that the idea of being able to “preview” which once existed, is no longer an option. Even when the shared item is under 2GB and viewable, when clicked to view on IOS it automatically adds it to your storage.
What is being addressed in this thread is that removal of the preview option for shared items. Does that still exist or no? When the shared item is above 2GB we are getting the notification of “not enough storage” with a list of FAQ and a tab to upgrade storage. (See screenshots shared earlier in this thread). The first FAQ is what is misleading and what I assume brought on the start of this discussion. In that first FAQ it is asked if we can still see the folder content without membership or without saving and the Dropbox response says that we can preview the folder and its content but will not be able to save it.
Therein lies the confusion. The “preview” option that once existing, is being told still exists, but is nowhere to be found as an option to choose.
I hope this helps clarify what people are pointing out and asking.

There is also a consistent theme in this thread now where once someone gives a good explanation as to what the issue is, Dropbox moderators stop responding.

Hey AvidiKadivi - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you please let us know some additional information so that we can assist further?
For example, what is your device's exact OS version and the version of the Dropbox app installed there?
Are you able to view the share on the website normally?
- AvidiKadivi3 years agoExplorer | Level 4Hi Walter. I have the newest IOS AND Dropbox app updates. They are both up to date. The same issue happen on the computer as stated in this thread by other users.

So you're unable to join this folder from your sharing tab on a web browser on your computer too AvidiKadivi?
- AvidiKadivi3 years agoExplorer | Level 4Hi Walter. Please read the messages in the thread. Everything has already been explained. There used to be an option preview shared folders without subscription and there is no longer that option even though it is advertised as one.
