Video freezing when trying to preview.
I have downloaded longer videos from a dropbox folder, and a few minutes in, the video freezes. At first I thought it was because of the editing software I was using, but changing it didn't help anything. I contacted the sender of the videos, and they confirmed that the videos got fully uploaded. So that must not be the issue. What could be causing

How are you downloading the video? Have you used the Download button on the Dropbox website, or some other method? Does the video freeze at the same point each time, and if so, how many minutes into the video is it?
If you play the file in a video player, rather than an editor, is there any difference? I would suggest opening the file in VLC (free download) and see if the full video plays. If it doesn't, you likely haven't downloaded the full video.

Yes I am downloading the video using the download button on the dropbox website! The videos usually freeze around 6-7 minutes, not the same time every time. I have also tried playing in a video player, outside of the editing software, and I'm having the same issue. The video says its 32 minutes long but cuts out way before

I am having same issue whether I upload through the desktop app or the website, videos are ALWAYS freezing halfway through

Hi aahamilt, regarding the videos, could you clarify what you mean by freezing exactly?
A screenshot of what you're seeing on the site could help us out a lot.

when I send a link to person, when they watch it, it freezes up part way throu, but they can still hear the audio, when I play the video BEFORE uploading it to dropbox, it does not freeze, but after uploading, it freezes, I did try reformatting it from .mp4 to .mkv and it did not freeze when viewing. Not sure why all of sudden my videos keep freezing. I have uploaded throu desktop and web. same thing.

Hey aahamilt, let me jump in here too!
How large are the videos, and does it happen with all of them?
Have you tried previewing the content using an entirely different browser, or an incognito mode without active plug-ins?

my videos are usually done with my external webcam 640x480 in mp4 format and friends are viewing the links on their phones, I am using Google Chrome. I have not tried a different browser as I use Chrome with my Google TV, acct and login to dropbox with Google. For some reason its the format, mp4. I use Format Factory to change the format to .mkv and those videos don't freeze. I did experiment with 2 friends. same results. mp4 freezes and only if I reformat will it play without freezing.

Hi aahamilt, if the video works after converting to another format, then it could mean that the video itself has some sort of issue when previewing via a browser.
Does this occur for any mp4 files you use, or only those created via your webcam?
