Question or Issue
Hi folks,
I'm collaborating on a project with a colleague and we're constantly uploading different files to several folders within a shared dropbox. The problem is I'm not seeing when they've added things to dropbox via the sharing activity notification panel that I usually use. For example, In the last 7 days it only says that they have edited a file of mine 2 hours ago, however I can see in our dropbox that they've added several new folders and files.
This means I'm having to manually check all our folders for updated or new files which isn't ideal at all. Any ideas? I've tried quitting Dropbox and restarting already and can confirm all notification settings are set to 'on'.
Thanks so much in advance!

Thanks, Walter. Unfortunately no change on my end after re-installing. Any other ideas perhaps?

Hi Walter,
Thanks for your help. All notifications are toggled on and 'snooze notifications' is set to off.
I noticed today that for a moment it seemed to be working again - I could see that my colleague had added some new files. I thought it was fixed, however the next time I looked that activity had disappeared again.
I've re-installed the app and it's currently indexing. I'll update you here once that's finished.
Thanks again - Walter31 days ago

Thanks for clarifying that for us jordiboo - much appreciated.
Can you take a look at the notifications tab in the app's preferences and let us know if you've made sure that the toggles are set to 'on' and that you haven't somehow snoozed the notifications?
If you find that all are set to on and still notice this issue, you might need to reinstall the app.
Keep us posted!

Hi Nancy,
No, my colleague isn't having this issue. I did have some recent updates around the time this started happening. I'm not sure how to see the update history of my dropbox app, sorry! So I'm not aware if it updated recently or not. - Nancy2 months ago

Thanks for clarifying as well, jordiboo! Is your colleague facing a similar issue on their own desktop app, or is it only you who's experiencing this?
Did you have any updates on your Dropbox app or the OS of your device, right before this started happening? - jordiboo2 months agoNew member | Level 2
Hi Nancy,
Thanks for your response!
No, we're using our own individual accounts and uploading to a shared Dropbox folder. We've been doing this for a couple of years but it's only recently that these notifications have not been appearing. Here's a screenshot:Today my colleague added several new files after editing the 'cosmic' file, and added some other folders too. I can see that they're there in our Dropbox folder however the notifications have not appeared at all.

Hey jordiboo! Thanks for your post.
When saying that you’re constantly uploading files to a shared Dropbox, are you referring to a shared Dropbox folder or a shared Dropbox account (that you both log in with the same credentials)? If the latter, please keep in mind that this goes against our Terms of Service and it can potentially result in the termination of the Dropbox account in question (you can also read this Help Center article for more info).
If that’s not the case though, feel free to send me a full screenshot of the sharing activity notification panel that you’re looking at and I can also check this for you. From your post, I understand that you’re using the Dropbox desktop app, but I’d love to have a visual, as well.
Keep me in the loop.
