Several of my referrals have been marked as ineligible. Why is that?
Hi Dropbox team,
I’ve been using Dropbox for many years and participating in the referral program. However, several referrals over the past decade were marked as “Invalid” or “Awaiting installation” — despite users signing up and installing Dropbox properly.
Here is a portion of my referral history:
- **20/05/2025** – *@hotmail.com* → Invalid
- **01/05/2020** – *@icloud.com* → Invalid
- **22/09/2013** – *@yahoo.com.ar* → Awaiting installation (still pending after 10+ years!)
- **11/06/2010** – *@hotmail.com* → Referral sent, never updated
These users used my referral link, signed up, and in some cases installed the desktop app. I currently have 8.75 GB of referral space, so I believe I’m still eligible for more bonuses.
I’d really appreciate it if someone could review my referral status and confirm whether these bonuses can still be applied, or if there’s any issue I should be aware of.
Thank you in advance!

They need to install the Dropbox desktop application (mobile devices doesn't count) and it must be installed on a unique computer, one that has never had Dropbox installed previously. They also need to verify their email address.

A referral could also be marked as ineligible if both you and the recipient are on the same network at the time the referral is used.
