I'm getting billed $20 a month for a basic Dropbox account. How can I request a refund?
Hi, I have been seeing a $19.99 transaction on my bank statements since March of 2024. I have always used the free Basic Dropbox plan, and it also has always been through my employers Dropbox account.
This has cost me an estimated amount of $320. I've tried everything from removing my card info from my computer to deleting my Dropbox account entirely. Nothing has worked.
I am reaching out here in hopes that SOMEONE can please help me refund these charges, and prevent them from happening every month!

Hi there, PaulS, sorry to hear about that!
Have you tried to contact Dropbox Support directly for this?
You can visit the Support page while you're not signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.
Once you do, feel free to send me the ticket number reference, in order for me to locate it on my end. If you have a trouble doing that, I'll be more than happy to reach out to you.
Let me know more!

Thank you for getting back to me, Megan ! I have tried signing out of everything and clicked on the support page link you provided, however no matter what I do it keeps bringing me back to the main support page where all I see are articles that lead me nowhere. Not sure where I go to get a ticket number reference.
might be easier at this point to just reach out to me, what info would you need?

Have you used the Dropbox credit card lookup tool? Deleting an account which doesnt have a payment on wont stop payments.
Ultimately Dropbox cannot charge you if you didnt give it your details, if you didnt then you need to speak to your card company as its fraud.

You mean someone has been using your card fraudulently, to pay for a Dropbox subscription that isn't yours? If so, you should be contacting your bank first!

My bank was notified immediately once I dug into this and saw what was happening. Appreciate the tip though
