I can´t access my account, because the email isn´t mine any more

I used to have a Dropbox account and I don´t know the password for it and I don´t have access to the email address anymore.

All the baby photos of my children are in there, so I really need to access my old account.

I really need to "talk" so somebody at Dropbox to help me access this account.

How can I access my old account?

Thank you 🙂

Hi TaliaG, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Is it not possible to recreate the email address, or regain access to the email in order to access the Dropbox account again?

This will help me to assist further.

    Hi all,

I was able to use my account for the last few years. I cannot access it now and I can't reset my password as my email doesn't exist (was hacked years ago and outlook with many attempts and auto response will not give it back)

all my daughters baby photos over the last 7 years are in my account! 😞

I'm having the same problem, my email was hacked years ago but I still was able to log on using that email until yesterday I accidentally signed out. All my baby photos are there and I can't access my old email (many attempts with outlook but their auto response is always no) I don't know what to do!

Hey Mattinna, thanks for the nudge here and sorry to see you're having trouble.

When you say that Dropbox support is not answering you, do you mean that you submitted a help request and didn't receive a reply?

Can you please give me the ticket number for this communication, so I can look it up in our system?

If you don't have a ticket number, perhaps your email wasn't properly sent.

But if that's the case, let me know and I can reach out to you via email.

I have the same problem - my email is not existing anymore as it was from my ex-company. I, unfortunately, run a subscription there which I can now not cancel neither can I log in... I pay the subscription privately. What can I do? Dropbox support is not answering me.

Without access to it there is no way of getting in to the email 😞

Would they possibly send you the password reset if you requested it?

Unfortunately, without access to the email address, you won't be able to gain access to the account. Access to the email address is the only verification that Dropbox will accept. Your best best is to contact the new owner of the email address, or the email administrator, and explain the situation. Perhaps you can get the address back, or they can forward you any reset information sent to it.
