Unknown computer on my Dropbox devices list
Can you find out where a computer that is syncing with your Dropbox is located? There is an unknown computer in my sync list. I don't want to delete it until I make sure I can't identify it. I am concerned it is a previous employee.

You'd think they would want to know which characters from which company were involved in such a hack. You can't even tell Drop Box you have been hacked !!!!! All they had to do is implement a single question before the "unlink device" is executed: "Is this a completely unknown device?" If so, all information would be saved to the Dropbox security department (if it even exists) for complete traceability .... prior to unlinking the unknown device. It's kind of a dugh.
Of course with no feedback it will be just a continuation of the current emperor with no clothes on security policy.
In my case DB just passing the info on to the business associated with my account hack would cost DB virtually nothing... No legitimate business is NOT going to look into outing a hack artist inside their organization. If nothing else DB will have more data to go to court with, while protecting its users with viable information about how their data was leaked.

I just had the same security issue with an unauthorized device linked to my account. I have the ip address and a corporate desktop name to go by.... however after using the juvenile dropbox chatbox WITH ZERO ANSWERS to anything and furtherly searching all day for a human contact phone or email contacts to report the issue, it is obvious that dropbox is not interested in responsibly securing our data. I also have zero faith that paying for a "better plan" will yield anymore responsibility on their behalf.

The security page already shows you a location, though it's only the city that's registered to the IP address owner (the ISP, not the end user). It gets you close, but it's not accurate at all. Some of my legitimate devices list a city four states away, but that's because one of my ISPs is headquartered there. Other than that, the only data you can get is the IP address, by clicking the i symbol.
