Colour Code "Files"
Whilst my files are sorted into many different "Folders"
Being able to colour code files in each folder would be really helpful to me.

Hi, I am interested, what level of support does an idea have to haver before it is escalated up for concideration?
I think it's a great idea. That being said, in recent years Dropbox has switched to prioritizing features for business customers, so if this idea were to be requested by a large (big number of seats) business customer of Dropbox, it would have more chances at being escalated for consideration.
Hope this helps,
Andrew (DBoxTips)

I think the coloring the file and folder names will be the best. You can look how Adobe dose that in there Adobe Bridge.

Hi there
I think it would be very efficient and time-saving if it were possible to mark the folders and files in different colors.
This would make it possible to organize or search and find the files and folders more efficiently for the user, and make the work much easier.
What do you think? - PipR11 months agoNew member | Level 1
Yes! I would love this - we use colours a lot to mark things as DONE when there are certain files to be actioned by a team member. Currently looking for a way to do this but colour-coding would be ideal

Colour code "Files"
Thanks for the reply!
Best way for me, is if the background colour of the file name box could be changed to different, light or pastal colours, so jobs could be colour coded.
Example: I have Folders for different employees. I can only expect an employee to look at one folder, also I only want to have to look at one folder per employee.
So having Pressure clean jobs one colour and window cleaning jobs another colour. Maybe window and pressure clean jobs combined have a third colour. Other jobs also have different colours.
Visually the list of jobs would become instantly more comprehendable and be much more helpful to us.
As is, we have to read every file name to get what we could get at a glance otherwise. - Megan2 years ago

Hey SteveQ1thanks for posting here!
Just to make sure we're on the same page: are we talking about tagging files and how they could be colored, or about coloring the file names themselves?
I'd like to ensure I fully grasp the idea of what you wish to achieve, before proceeding. 😃
Keep me posted!
