When creating a shared link allow for the file name to be shown -like a hyperlink- and not a URL.

Hi Andreas Tsilifonis! Thanks for posting on our forum. 

When creating a shared link to a single file, you should be able to see the name of the file as part of the URL. 

Are you trying to share a link to a folder instead and you’d like the folder name to be visible in the URL? 

If I've misunderstood something, please let me know more details on your suggestion and I'll check this again.

I know that we can see the  filename as part of the URL, but it is more user friendly to see a simple understandable file name like:  Annual Company Sales Q5, than  two-three lines of the URL link.

We can do this manually but it's a waste of time, especially if you're sharing many files. Is there a way that we can do it now with a different paste command, like CTRL+SHIFT+V or similar ?

If not, can you propose it to the developing team for evaluations, for a next Dropbox upgrade?

There's really no way for Dropbox to do this. Every system generates a hyperlink differently. There's HTML, Markdown, and numerous other methods to create a hyperlink, many of which are proprietary to the platform you're working in.

All Dropbox can do is generate the URL for you, and it's your computer that does the copying and pasting. It would be up to either your computer, or the platform that you're pasting the link into, to format the URL as a clickable hyperlink that displays the file name instead of the raw URL.
