Dropbox no longer works on my MAC 10.11.6.  I tried downloading older versions, did not work. Surely Dropbox is not going to

ignore and dismiss users like me. I used DB to share files between my PC and MAC, my PC still works but on my MAC I can no longer sync.

I understand where you're coming from, Janet, yet, we need to regularly release new versions of the Dropbox desktop app with additional features, better performance, and security enhancements to keep our products in line and these versions are not always compatible with older systems.

For instance, Apple stopped providing security updates to OS X 10.10 and OS X 10.11 in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

That said, thanks for your feedback on this matter and please let me know if you have anything else to add or ask.

Hey @Janet M.19, thanks for posting on our Community and sorry to hear about this.

Your computer's OS has not been supported since last October so you won't be able to use the desktop app, but only the website through a web version. You can have a look here for more information about the system requirements for the Dropbox desktop app.

I hope this clears things up a tad, Janet.

That is too bad, surely you should be able to allow older versions to still work with my MAC.

Well I am version 12.6.5 and ALSO cannot use on my mac any longer. Very frustrating. I have contacted DB support and they say it is a profile issue that they do not support. Well the only thing I did was update dropbox as requested by DB and now it is useless. FRUSTRATED does not begin to describe my feelings. Something is awry here and I cannot get help to fix.

This is horrible. I'm in the middle of a running project with a mac w osx sierra and pc, and multiple other people. Suddenly after an update the dropbox client won't sync on my mac.

*edit*

It works again

Hey @Secomo, sorry to see you're having a syncing issue.

Would you mind giving us some more info on the issue?

Has the update to the new Dropbox for macOS version finished?

What's the sync status and version of the Dropbox app? You can hover over your Dropbox icon to see this info.

Hi @Secomo, it might sound trivial, but have you tried quitting the app, restarting your device and then launching it again?

If you could also send me a screenshot of the grayed out Dropbox icon, along with the syncing status of the app, that'd be amazing, thanks!
