Camera Upload from SD Card: device neither shows nor uploads
Hey!
When I insert my SD Card into my Mac, Dropxbox asks me whether I want to save the data on my dropbox. When I confirm to upload, nothing happens. The SD is also not shown under the setting > backups > device panel. What's wrong?
Hope someone can help. Thank you!

Hi line3, thanks for messaging the Community!
When you plugged in the SD card, what is the exact prompt you received?
Was it to enable the camera upload feature, or the Dropbox Backup feature?
This will help me to assist further!

Hey! Thanks for reaching out.
It shows the camera upload feature.

Hey line3, let me see if I can help here.
I would suggest changing the automatic camera uploads import preferences from within your Dropbox preferences on your computer.
To do this, you can do the following:
- Click on the Dropbox icon in your menu bar at the top of the screen and then click on your profile picture or initials to the right of the search bar.
- Choose "Preferences".
- Go to the "Backups" tab.
- Uncheck and check again "Enable camera uploads for".
This should reset your Camera Upload settings, so when you connect a device, Dropbox will ask you if you want to import pictures from it.
Let me know how it goes!

Dear Hannah,
thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately I still have the same problem after unchecking and checking the camera-upload switch.
When I insert the SD-card, my computer and the Dropbox app recognise it but after I accept the upload nothing happens. In my Preferences > Backup > Device list nothing is shown either.
Hope to hear about another solution.

Hey line3, would you mind clarifying the app's exact OS, along with the version of the Dropbox app that you're using there?
You should be able to locate it if you hover your mouse over the little Dropbox icon, next to your WiFi on your menu bar.

Sure! I'm using macOS Ventura: 13.6.7 and Dropbox version 200.4.7134.

line3, can you also clarify the format of your SD card?
If you’re not on a free Basic account with more than 3 devices currently linked, I’d also suggest reinstalling the Dropbox app as the next step.

Hi Nancy,
my SD Card is a standard size SD card (Intenso SDHC UHS-I 32GB).
I have the Dropbox Plus plan and I had reinstalled the Dropbox app several times, just tried once again just now, nothing changed.

Thanks for the extra info! Can you please right click on the SD, after connecting it to your device, and go to its Properties/Get info? I’d like a screenshot of what you see next.
