Hi. I've installed "Clean my Mac" applications and (I don't know how) after a scan of the system I've discovered that my desktop (all the folders) disappeared. They all are in my Dropbox account and it's impossible for me to bring them back because of missing permissions.
I know that i can use all of them by Dropbox but i want my desktop the same way it was before. Can you help me ? Thanx a lot
Welcome to the Community, @MarcelloSax64!
It sounds like you’ve enabled computer backup on your Dropbox app.
Can you please follow these steps to disable it, and let me know if they help?
Keep me posted for any updates.

Hi. Thank you for your quick answer. I don't know if my problem is clear.
I just want my macbook with desktop like it is meant to be with all the folders in the right place.
I'm looking for my backup disk but i don't know if it may be appropriate for this problem.
This **bleep** software move everything in Dropbox ( i love dropbox but i don't want it for this)
Hey @MarcelloSax64, if you follow the steps that Nancy linked in her reply, you will be able to disable the backup feature and return your desktop folders to their original locations.

Hi again, @MarcelloSax64!
Do you want to tell me where you're having difficulty with the steps, so that we can look into this together? You can also send me a screenshot, if you prefer.

Hi. Can you try using Team Viewer ?
If you want we can try this way.
Hey @MarcelloSax64, unfortunately, we're not able to screenshare through the Community; is it possible to send screenshots of anything you might be having trouble with, so we can try to help you?

Hi. I've saved all the files and folders i need from DropBox to an external hard disk. If i delete everything about Dropbox and copy the saved files and folders in my macbook desktop ? Do you think I'll solve the problem ?
Hey @MarcelloSax64, sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that the issue you're facing is not really clear to us, so we won't be able to advise if the actions you mentioned would solve the problem.
Could you let us know more information about the issue at hand and provide some screenshots of where you get stuck so that we can assist further?
