I am sending video files through Dropbox. Can I change or select the thumbnail that is on the video when playing it back.
Thanks for the help
For additional information in case it helps... the thumbnail chosen for a video file is a frame from the 8-second mark in the video.
My videos have the correct thumbnail when I look at them on my computer (i.e., Dropbox in Windows 10) and when I look at them on YouTube, but wrong when I look at them in Dropbox.com. The same videos! This is insane! I want to share them with a client via Dropbox, but not with the wrong thumbnail... Help!
Hi @judeberman, since there isn’t a way to amend this, I’ve added your voice to the request we sent to our dev team.
This is a huge deal for business users. I'm sharing video files I've edited to the client, and the first thing they see is a bad frame of someone with their eyes half-open. From a presentation standpoint, this is not good at all, and I'd suggest fixing it.
In professional media this is a vital requirement.
It's quite embarrasing to have a random frame that cannot be changed.
After using Dropbox for a year I am pleased at all other aspects. Surely this is a simple addition of code - which would increase the likelihood of sales from video professionals around the world using dropbox over other alternatives. Thanks A
Agree. It automatically chooses the frame :08 seconds into the clip, which ALWAYS is a shot of some random person with their eyes closed. The client doesn't understand.
Pretty poor to be honest - my videos are not identifiable from the arbitrary poster frame dropbox assigns, so it means I cant use dropbox showcase. Perhaps someone could suggest an alternative application I can use?
Hi all, I’ve moved the thread to the feature request page for other users to vote on the idea as well.
