Hello all,
we are using a Dropbox Standard trial account. Now we wanted to extend the trial period because Dropbox appeals to us more than the other cloud providers. On the German site it says that a Dropbox Standart costs 12 euros per license. In the payment screen it shows me 17,58 Doller.
I contacted sales, which told me that the $17.58 is inclusive of tax. But this can not be, because on the 17.58 dollars are also calculated additional taxes.
I also have a ticket with support, which has told me via chat that it is strange.
Unfortunately, no one is contacting me anymore, neither sales nor support.
We're running out of time a little bit right now. We still have about 2 weeks of trial and we are not willing to pay more than the advertised 12 euros per license. At the moment we are thinking about using another cloud provider for our company.
Therefore, in addition to the ticket, I am also writing here in the forum to find out how the $17.58 comes about. Is it the right price? Why is displayed to me Doller although we sit in Germany (Euro).
Maybe someone here can give us answers 🙂
I wanted to report back briefly.
We have deactivated the trial period and could then pay directly in euros. Quite strange.
Hi @DropWolke, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Since you're seeing the price in dollars, have you switched the billing country to Germany in order to get the price in Euros?
This will help me to assist further!

Thank you for your reply.
Where can I change it? Or do you mean the payment screen? Germany is set in the payment screen.
I have also switched to other countries and back to germany and always appear dollar prices.
Certain countries have their own currencies shown, Germany is one of them, so the price should appear in Euros, not dollars.
Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps, and using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running? Can you also check the price when not signed into your own account?

Here's what I tried:
Safari Browser on Mac
-> Private Mode
-> Disabled all PlugIns or extensions
-> Disabled all security stuff
Firefox on Mac
-> Private Mode
-> Disabled all PlugIns or extensions
-> Disabled all security stuff
Vivaldi (Chromebased) on Mac
-> Private Mode
-> Disabled all PlugIns or extensions
-> Disabled all security stuff
iPad and iPhone
Everywhere I get doller displayed. By the way, if I also change to France or other EU countries, it will also only show to me doller. I have also checked my IP address, this is detected to germany,.
I was just able to figure out that it's not my browser or computer.
I created a new Basic account with a different email address, and this time all prices are displayed correctly. Even the 12 Euro per license (12 + 19% tax =14,28 Euro).
So it must be my account?
I have also put the information in my support ticket
Hey @DropWolke - thanks for the additional information and the screenshot too.
Could you also share your ticket ID so that we can look it up in our system?
