Why does my App shows all the screen-captures on my photos tab?

Why does my App shows all the screen-captures on my photos tab?

Why does my App shows all the screencature on my photos tab? How do I disable that feature? I don't need to see screencaptures on my photos tab. Especially those that I've captured on my desktop or laptop. No need to see those in my phones Photo tab.

If I want to see some photo I need to scroll page after page because now even screencaptures are included there. [removed by moderator] dumb move, who ever thought that was great feature.

The Photos page on the website or the tab in the app will display all image files in your account. There is no option to disable this for certain file types or to exclude certain folders. It simply displays ALL images from your account.

Well, that's kind of dumb. Oh, well I need to seek out alternatives then.

So this request was already asked in another thread but it was closed (marked solved? yikes) basically with the answer "you aren't using dropbox the way we want you to".  Not the best customer service response IMO, but my use case is, I think, defensibly exactly why this is a good feature.

Feature Request:  On mobile give us the opportunity to either filter folders from view entirely or at least select specific folders to include in the photos view.

I have over 2 decades of family photos in my dropbox account.  My camera uploads go there, all that good stuff.

However, I also store application development stuff in other folders in my dropbox, so I have thousands of icons, web graphics, etc, in those folders.  Unfortunately those pictures get included in the mobile photos view simply because they are image file types.  I'd like to exclude those somehow so I can browse my family photos without having them all interlaced with icons and all that other stuff.

There's no way to exclude a folder from the Photo tab in the app, or on the Photos page on the website.

You can post a feature request in the Share an idea section of the forums.
