Deleted Files on pc
I have had dropbox for a while and mainly use it to transfer pictures and such to and from devices, However, when I updated dropbox on my computer there was an option to sync files. Not really paying attention I agreed and now my ALL of my Documents and Downloads have backed up on Dropbox. I dont have an option to remove the backed-up file but can delete the files within, however when I do that they also dele from my computer. I just want to remove this sync and delete the files from Dropbox and keep them on my pc
UPDATE. I THOUGHT I UNCHECKED THE STUPID OPTION AND IT DELETED ALMOST EVERYTHING IN MY DOCUMENTS AND DOWNLOADS FOLDERS.
Restored most of the deleted files from dropbox's deleted folder online. No option for that on the app. Still highly recommend an option to maybe NOT delete everything from your computer just so there a reason to fill up the Dropbox online storage forcing people to pay for the larger size. Instead maybe, just maybe, add an easily accessible option to not do that. Thanks

Hello, I am not sure if I'm correct. But I cannot see them.
There is only one folder where I have downloaded files to dropbox. But I need to get back also files that I have not downloaded to dropbox.

Are there any missing files visible on the deleted files page, or the events page?

There are visible files on the events page. The deleted page is empty.

Are you able to navigate to the files via the events page and then download them to your computer?

Unable to download all the required files. Those marked "you have added a file" are downloadable, but those marked "you have deleted a file" are not available for download. At the very end of the events, there are entries: Your PC is now associated with an account, you have added a PC folder, a Desktop folder, and 2 more, you have added files (4754). Next, "Event Details" opens. In this window, I found all the folders that were previously on my desktop. These are the files I need. But they open further - it comes out red "the file does not exist."

Hi Akerke Maulenbay!
If you click on the blue hyperlink, do you see the option to restore the content?
How many days ago did the deletion take place?
- Akerke Maulenbay4 years agoExplorer | Level 3
I mean I can download files that I have previously uploaded to dropbox. I have shared with dropbox only a few of them. They are available for download. But according to the events page, I have shared all my files with dropbox, which is not true it was unintentional, or at least I did not know about it. So I need to get back the files that dropbox deleted from my computer. How come dropbox delete all the files. Even trash is empty. I do not understand.
Files were deleted about a week ago.
HOW COME DROPBOX HAS A FULL ACCESS TO MY PC? WHY THERE IS NO EXTRA STORAGE PLACE, like from where I can restore them. I am trying to be patient, but those files I need urgently. I MIGHT LOSE MY JOB.

As it sounds like you enabled the computer backup feature, the files should be visible on this page, from which you can download them to your machine.
