Getting an error when clicking on a folder on my Mac

While I have access to my DB files online, when I click on the folder, it says "the folder XXXX can't be opened because you don't have permission to see the content" !    How can I fix the issue?

  • Hey PascalMahvi, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you please let me know the status and version of the desktop app as shown in your menu bar at the moment? Is it 'up to date' or still syncing?

Have you granted Dropbox full disk access as outlined here by the way?

    Keep me posted, Pascal!

    Hi Walter

    My version is 180.4.4912

    I am using 18.2% of 2.0TB

    I have DP Personal Plus

I have selected Online-Only files to save space - that is when my issues started

DP will not let me see the files on the file folder

I can view my files by going to the DP server only.

I don't know how to see it it is up to date or still syncing

My Apple Icon does not have System Preferences ..  it is called System settings

and the rest under it is not al all what you described

    Thank you for helping me

Can we Facetime so you see ...

Hey PascalMahvi, thanks for the screenshot and the additional info.

You can find the sync status of the app, by hovering your mouse over your Dropbox icon in the menu bar.

Also, if you right-click on the folders, do you see a "make available offline" option? If you do, please click on it, allow the app to sync and try to open them again.

    Uploading 1048

    Downloading 37

When I right click - it will not show me make files available online

    I see this

Then when I click further on public folder, I see this:

Thanks for the additional information PascalMahvi - most appreciated!

Is your desktop app 'up to date' now or still syncing in your menu bar? If it's the latter, has the number of files changed at all or is it stuck perhaps?

Hey Pascal, can you also make sure to give Dropbox full disk access, to see if that helps with syncing being stuck?
