Hi, Dropboxcommunity!
I have the following problem:
I embed the code on the website to play the video:
<video width='100%' autoplay='true' playsinline='' loop='true' muted='true\'>
<source src='https://www.dropbox.com/s/0acg085wlvdpfti/spaten_identity.mp4?raw=1' type='video/mp4'> </video>
1. Everything works fine on desktop
2. On mobile devices on Android, it is also ok
3. On the iPhone, it does not play (chrome / safari)
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Thanks in advance 🙏
Hey @yarkinzhan, sorry to hear about this.
Can you please let us know if this persists after clearing the browser's cache or on a private/incognito window?
If it does, you could try requesting the desktop version of the site as well.
Keep us posted anyhow!

Hey @Walter!
Thank you for your reply.
Of course, we cleared cookies and caches, use the private mode too and tried it on various apple devices.
Video does not play in chrome and safari mobile browsers.
But as I said earlier, the desktop version and mobile browsers on Android are no problem.
What can I do in this situation?
Hi @yarkinzhan, can you check if you can preview the Dropbox link dl=0, using an iOS browser on your end without an issue?
If not, feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see on your end, in order for me to have a visual too.

Ok, let me show you the situation in more detail.
I embed video code into the Readymag project (plan - studio, all options are activated)
Video: mp.4 / 264 (2.7 Mb)
Also tried .mov
I tried 6 different versions of the code (see attachment), with all iterations - iPhone (Chrome / Safari) everything shows the PLAY icon (autoplay does not start) and after pressing PLAY the video does not play. (see attachment).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance 🙏
I mean if I copy the link into the browser window:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0acg085wlvdpfti/spaten_identity.mp4?dl=0
Then the player window opens in the browser and the video is played
but if I copy the link to the browser window:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0acg085wlvdpfti/spaten_identity.mp4?raw=1
then the player is displayed and when you click on PLAY, the error shown above.
Perhaps this information will be useful for resolving the issue?
Hi @yarkinzhan
We're having a bit of trouble reproducing this issue on our end. I ran this by a colleague who was able to view the video you linked on an iPhone.
I have received word from another team member that embedding videos like this isn't supported at this time. which explains the inconsistency across platforms. While I can't make any guarantees or provide an ETA, it is a feature that we are investigating.
Regards,
Ben
Hi @yarkinzhan ,
I'm Amanda, a product manager at Dropbox. Our team is investigating video embedding, and would love to learn more about your use case! (For example, what are the videos about? Who are you sharing these videos with? How many people do you expect view your videos?) Any information you can share would be extremely helpful!
If you're also open to a chat, we could set one up in the coming weeks. 🙂
Best,
Amanda
