Can see folders but not files: This file cannot be previewed because you are offline
- I have tried opening in Incognito.
- I have downloaded the app and can see the files there
- On a browser which is how I want to work - I cannot see the files suddenly
- I have permission to view (not edit)
- Another person who has permission cannot also but one who has permission can see the files
- This only started happening this week
- Screenshots at folder level with error and file level are available but can't see a way to attach
- I am a coder of websites so get me to try things as technical
- I don't want to edit files or add to the folder - just view the files - which I cannot

Hey magleahy, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Did you try clearing your browser's cache or another browser?
Can you please send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting so that we can have a look too?
You should be able to attach one through the camera icon (insert photo option) within your reply box.
Thanks!

Thanks Walter. I don't think the cache would come into play if I tried on Incognito - right?

I can see this is a shared folder magleahy
How have you been given access to this folder in the first place? Was it through a shared link with edit or view only permissions perhaps?
If you navigate to the members of the folder, do you see your account's email address shown there?

Hey Walter,
I was invited by email. I used to be able to access the folders and the files no problems for about 3 weeks.
I lost the power to see files sometime after last Thursday on my browser.I can see the other people - those who can't access and those who can. We have the same permissions to View only.
What next in our quest?

Hi magleahy, thanks for clarifying!
If you have view only permissions, that would explain why you can't add new content to said folder. Can you ask for the owner, to change your permissions to can edit, and then try again?
However, there's a second obstacle here, which is the viewing part. Even with view only permissions, you should be able to preview the content.
It might sound trivial, but is your browser up to date, and running its latest version?

Hey Megan,
I don’t need to edit anything. I’m a student so only need to view. My browsers aok. Chrome. You probably have access to that data via my account?
What else shall we try? - magleahy3 years agoExplorer | Level 3The main questions I want to check out are:
- why did it work and now it doesn’t?
- why does app work and not browser?
- why does it work for someone with same permissions (view) but not for me and a peer - this week and fine before?
Can you get your tech stars to investigate? - Megan3 years ago

Hi magleahy, could I send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
- magleahy3 years agoExplorer | Level 3Please do. Thanks for asking. Presume you have access to it?

Hey magleahy, yes, we do have access to your email address, and I just reached out to you, so we'll continue there.
Thanks!
