captions for images

captions for images

This has been asked for before – but the idea has been closed, so I rep-open it.

Planning to come to Dropbox simply for storing images for my different uses, I couldn´t really believe it is not possible to add *any* kind of additional information to images but title and tags.

Visual documents / content are by now basic carriers of information on the interwebs and in everyone´s world of documents. Likewise it seems so plain basic that images in the internet are always hybrid documents, combining visual and textual informations – of different sorts: captions, annotations, associations, keywords and terms for searchability, descriptions etc etc.).

It seems very counter-internet and counter current-day document culture on a very fundamental basis to allow image uploads, but not allow basic textual information alongside it.

... interesting.

– Nobody using Dropbox to store – and work with – images ...?! 😯
Seems strange given the options (storage size, deeplinks, security etc.); and also in light of what is possible with video and other media here in Dropbox, which makes it a default storage beyond texts.

So, community, I am wondering, how are people actually working with images here? 😶
