Someone got the password to my Dropbox account and changed my credentials.
I think someone got the password to my Dropbox account and changed the associated password and e-mail account. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks
edit: I see someone else had the same problem, I'll contact support. Thanks
Reset the password via www.dropbox.com/forgot ?

- Reinhardtkenneth5 years agoExplorer | Level 3Hi Lori
Thank you so much I appreciate it
Here’s the same response I replied on my email:
I was hacked and for a brief moment I was still signed in on my mobile app, they changed my email, this hacker, I saw, has deleted EVERYTHING in my Dropbox apart from one funeral video for my grandpa (who unfortunately passed away from covid-19)
Everything else, over 2TB of file went missing. I pay for the 3TB plan. Is there anyway I can get my account AND files back? I’ve been a loyal customer of Dropbox since 2017 (recently even upgraded). - aonderwater5 years agoExplorer | Level 3

My account was hacked by someone with access to my ipad that my kid had access to the password. They changed all my passwords and setup 2 step security protocols to their own emails and phone numbers, so I have no access to my email. So when I try to login or reset the password to dropbox, of course it goes to my email, which I no longer have access to. Is there any support for Bad hats doing this to people? I am sure that I am not alone with this predicament!
Thanks ...
Danny

Hi aonderwater, I hope you're doing well!
You've got a new email, and I'll be happy to help you further!
In addition, Dannytech, keep in mind that without access to the email address, our hands are tied as to what we can do.
If the account was a free one, the best thing you can do is create a new one.

Hi Megan,
I've had the same issue just yesterday. I could no longer log into my account (app or web) via email and could not reset my password as it said my account has been deleted. But, the files/links I've shared with colleagues are still active; I can still click on those links to powerpoint presentations etc. That's funny as I was about to upgrade my account when this happened. FYI - I do still retain access to my email....and I had to create a new DropBox account with my work email just to send this reply/request in the forum. Please help! Thanks so much!!Ticket#: 15405924

Hi HCAhydrographics, I'm sorry to hear about this matter.
Since the email belongs to a custom domain, do you mean that they have control of the actual email or domain itself, or that they logged into your Dropbox account and changed that email?
Any more details will help me to assist further. - HCAhydrographics4 years agoExplorer | Level 3Jay
