I know this has been asked and answered by changing Open Folders in [Dropbox desktop app] under Preferences.
However, there is no such option to change in my Preference list. I can't find this option anywhere else. What am I missing?

You can't make that change through the website. It can only be set within Preferences in the Dropbox application. If you have Dropbox syncing your files on the desktop, then you have the Dropbox application installed. Check your system tray (near the clock) for the Dropbox icon. It may be hidden. If so, click the ^ to show hidden icons.

You should see the option on the General tab.
Thanks for the prompt reply, Rich.

Thank you very much, Rich! You're the best!
Rich, you said the same thing twice and didn't address his issue. I am having the same problem. When I click on the Dropbox icon on my desktop (or taskbar) it opens Dropbox as an Explorer file. From my explorer window, I don't see any way to access my Dropbox profile, settings, sync settings, etc. I have watched multiple videos and the tutorials all show the same process, under which the window that you are directing to is not available. Care to explore this further? Thanks
Hey Dillious,
So at the bottom right (Taskbar) you should see the dropbox icon followed by version number
Click on that,
Then comes up a small window with all your files that have been added by you or shared by others,
Top right of that is your profile icon,
Click on that,
There you will see preferences,
Now you can change whatever you like
Thank you! I was clicking and right-clicking on the Dropbox app icon in my system tray but I could not find that "Preferences" menu. I was looking for a "settings" gear icon or something similar. I never thought to click on the account badge and edit my user profile until you clarified that.
I do not have the option to select where to open folders in. I don't know if it was removed in a specific update but the option needs to be put back. Here's what my preferences window looks like now.
