The original creation date of my photos changes after uploading them via the mobile app.

I have been using drop box for years and never had this issue.  When I upload photos from my phone to my drop box account using the app on my phone, the dates of the photos change to the date of upload, not the date taken.  Why has this changed?  How do I get the correct date of the photo?

Thank you for your time

Hey Pixiegrrl1701, thanks for posting on our forum.

What you describe sounds like expected behavior, as stated in this Help Center article, as well. Only uploading via the desktop app will preserve the original creation date of the file.

Since you mention this wasn’t happening in the past though, can you clarify when was the last time you uploaded a photo via the Dropbox mobile app and it preserved the original creation date of the photo?

    Let me know.
