I deleted a shared user, and tried to add them again, but got an error

I intended to share an external clients' folder with them. Somehow they were granted access to our full Dropbox as a team member. I removed/deleted them as a team member and I'm trying to share only their file and now I get an error saying, "One or more of these emails is no longer active." How can I resolve to share their folder with the same email?

    If they were a team member and you have deleted them you've actually deleted their whole account. So they need to set up a new account, or, you need to undelete the user and then remove them from your team rather than delete them. This is probably preferable because if they have personal documents on Dropbox they'll have also lost them.
