Malware Hosted in Drop Box

I'm a youtube creator and was approached by a company that wanted to have me add a 20 sec commerical to the front of my videos, they sent me this link [link removed]

Turns out it was malware embedded in the file and they hijacked my google account, deleted my Youtube video and now are hosting Crypto scams on my channel.

Doesn't Drop box have scannners to find malware and viruses?

I will never use of trust Dropbox again, I've lost so much today because of misplaced trust....

Yes, Dropbox does have this, but, ultimately, the onus and responsibility is on you as the end user to have the appropriate security and protection on your devices to keep you safe. It isnt another companies responsibility to do it. There is a limitation to what and how they can do it and nothing is failsafe.

As a side note send the link to abuse@dropbox.com so they can look at it. It is highly possible/likely that the account sending it has also been compromised IF the people who initially contacted you are a legitimate company.
