My account was inactive for 2 years and got deleted - can I recover it?
Hey Walter ,
I didn't access my dropbox for almost 2 years & today I found my dropbox account is deleted? How is even possible?
It has my crucial data. Can you please help to recover my account?
FYI...it forced me to signup for the new account today, now I don't have any data in there, so really looking for the solution ASAP.
Thank you for the support!

You get multiple emails, its documented in the Help Centre and is in the T&C's agreed when signing up.
Unfortunately it seems that people often ignore the Dropbox emails or they fall in to 'Clutter' or similar.

Thats not possible I'm afraid. Data is removed, permanently, after 12 months of inactivity. There is no recovery possible by Dropbox.
Do you still have the data on a device at all? Could that help?

Mark Thanks for getting back.
Unfortunately, I don't have back up anywhere & I had some files which are really crucial, I must get those file back anyhow.
Please let me know all th epossible options to access that date. It's really critical to have it back.
Thanks

Hey Sandy28, sorry to hear about this situation.
I'm afraid that if an account gets deleted due to inactivity, there's no way for it or the files in it to be recovered, because they're basically deleted from our servers.
If you want, you can open this link from a private browsing window and submit a help request to our support team, who will be able to confirm this for you as well.
I'm sorry I couldn't help more, but if you have other questions, let us know.
