Mac OS Monterey 12 dropbox not syncing

Mac OS Monterey 12 dropbox not syncing

I have upgraded to Monterey 12.01 but ever since I'm having problems with dropbox not syncing properly. I have not experienced problems like others with dropbox not starting up, but whoever I have dropbox sync something it is either perpetually indexing or downloading it .

In the mean time it is completely useless. Anything I try to add to my dropbox it doesn't go anywhere. Or If someone puts something in a shared folder it also doesn't arrive.

I have checked and Dropbox has full disk access and all other permisssions are ok.

I have Mac mini m1

Update..........

Dropbox seems to have sorted out by itself. I did delete a folder with 3008 files which online weighed just 7 GB while the same folder weighed circa 30 GB on a local HDD. There might have been a problem with some of the files ( I had a HDD failure on 29th of October but the rest of the computers were OK up until one PC showed similar problems this morning) being stuck and it might have been the cause of the problem. At least that's what I think was going on. The following days I'll see if the system works as expected.

Anyway, I do not think that this Monterey Macintosh non-M1 version is really ready for prime time. There are certainly some bugs that I hope will be ironed out in the near future. Really happy everything works fine now. Going through web interface was such a nuisance.

Thanks for the effort Dropbox support and the community.

Hi @Ljupco S., thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you hover over the Dropbox icon in the menu bar and let me know what version you're running?

What other messages does it currently show, such as syncing, indexing, and so on?

This will help me to assist further.

The version is 134.4.4115

The message changes when something happens in the cloud. Sometimes it is indexing, sometimes it's downloading......... but no matter what it is going on I can still receive files but if I try to move a file from my computer to a dropbox folder it it stuck and it doesn't go to the cloud.

Also if I want to move a file from one dropbox folder to another , that also it is not repreasented in the cloud.

It does sound like the Dropbox app isn't uploading or syncing local changes to the site.

Could you check your bandwidth settings to see if there is an upload limit?

no, there is no bandwidth limit as I receive the files instantly but can't make any changes via the app.

Double checked, no bandwidth limits.

Do you have an proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

Nothing specific. I have the firewall turned, I'll try and disable it now and see what happens

Hi @Ljupco S., I hope you're doing well!

Would you mind sending us a screenshot of what you see when you hover your mouse over your little Dropbox icon?

In addition, @StellarCore47 keep in mind you're using the beta version of the app.

Go into your account settings on the Dropbox website and turn Early releases off. After that, install one of the stable builds of the Dropbox application.

Keep us posted!
