Make it so that after photos or videos have been imported the Dropbox gives the option to delete the imported photos from its original location inside the iOS photo album

This used to be a feature that was available through the Carousel app, which was a companion to Dropbox meant specifically for photo management. They killed the app, and this feature along with it. It's very unlikely that it will ever return, especially considering that since the demise of Carousel, Dropbox have been slowly removing most of the useful photo management features.

I (and many thousands of people) use Dropbox for security camera system event storage but it regularly fills up. I wish I could enable a setting to delete the oldest Dropbox pictures automatically like in the way my DVR or Dash Cam loop records.

My phone gets full of content. I have everything uploaded in the Dropbox cloud. Why not have a feature that automatically deletes already uploaded content? And that after a user-defined period of time.

If safety of the content is an issue you can write software that do double checks via check sums, after the content has been uploaded and before it will be deleted.

Maybe you want the user to confirm every time a batch of content is deleted (and give the user an option to opt out of this confirmation).

Another option could be that the user can choose a home computer where he wants to have a local copy of all the content that will be deleted on his phone.

Would be really great to have such finality. It can talk under the "Camera Upload" options section.

I have another app similar to Dropbox where once you add pictures, it asks if you want them deleted from your main photo album.

I think this would be great for Dropbox to add as a feature so I don’t need to go back and delete those pictures myself.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

Thanks for the amazing service. Dropbox is the most attractive service among cloud services I have been using.

Would it be possible to implement the automatic deletion of the files (photos and videos) on mobile devices which are automatically uploaded?

It would be convenient.

Thanks for reading my suggestion. Keep safe from Covid-19.

Best Regards,

PyoungRyang Ko

Should have a feature that allows select all feature that automatically deletes all old photos unless specially starred and added to a secure folder. This will prevent data explosion where there is no space to store all the photos.

YES! I was just going to "share an idea" with the exact same message!

The reason I need this option is due to my phone's tiny storage space. If this had been possible, I wouldn't have to buy phones with that big of a storage in the future, because I could instead rely on a daily backup & deletion process that would clear uploaded photos from the phone's memory. In fact, that would mean that I could withstand my old phones for much longer.

I would prefer if this was a option that you could toggle on/off in the settings.
