Rename multiple pictures at the same time

Rename multiple pictures at the same time

hoping to be able to rename multiple files soon. Changing each one, one by one takes for ever. All pictures from phone that get backed up come with the stock numbers from the phone, so no way to change it on your phone...hoping you guys can have that on your next update.

This is a crucially needed improvement.  Currently, renaming one file at a time takes about 20 seconds per file.  When I have more than, say, 10 to rename, I have to download them to my Mac, unzip, rename, re-upload, then delete the original ones with the old name.  This is quite time consuming compared to other cloud solutions (especially Microsoft's OneDrive).

For some reason, I can't upvote this idea.  That's probably why it shows "zero" votes.  Please fix.  This is one of the more important (and easy) improvements.  Alternatively, if Renaming a file only took 1 second, like in OneDrive, then that would make it much more palatable, but 20 seconds is like going back to the 1960s.

Thank you for your idea, while we can’t take every idea forward we do regularly re-review and will update you if anything changes!

PS: You may find our naming conventions and automation features helpful in the meantime.

Why doesn't this idea have more votes? It is completely unsustainable to update names one file at a time. It is also very strange that it is possible to rename several files at a time in the app but not on the computer. This makes my dropbox experience so much worse.

@Caroline83a - I tried to upvote this idea but there wasn’t any way to do it.  The naming convention method is a clunky workaround since it’s not exactly a rename if you have additional files in a folder. Plus moving files is quite slow so it’s sadly faster to download the files, rename them, then re-upload.

Hey @OldJazzPadre, sorry to jump in here, but could you clarify if you're using a mobile device or a desktop computer when trying to upvote this idea?

Have you tried another browser perhaps?

Hello! If you use the app, you can easily rename several files, but if you log in via the computer, you can only rename one file at a time. Why does it differ in functions?

Hey @Caroline83a, have you considered using our naming conventions feature or even the automation options for your folder(s)?

Is function for naming conventions from another system?

I've looked a bit into automation but I don't think it will work for what I'm posting now because it's not general rules. Maybe I´m wrong.
