Show me which apps or processes are causing my online-only folders to become local

I want all of my folders to be online-only, but something keeps changing them to local, and completely fills my hard disk before it has made them all local.  (Not enough disk space is one of the reasons that I want all of my folders to be online-only).

I would like Dropbox to let me view a log of which other apps on my computer are doing this.  Once I know that, I hope that Dropbox can provide an option that either prevents this from happening, or, if it has to be allowed to happen, that automatically changes those folders back to online-only once that other app has finished doing whatever it need to do with them.
