My free account is almost full and I'd like to pull some folders out of Dropbox and save them to an external drive, then delete the folder from Droppbox.

Is there a way to do this?

I may be just missing how to move dropbox folders DIRECTLY to an external drive?

Do I have to Transfer files/folders from dropbox to computer and THEN doing backup?

Thanks

Hi @captain-janeway, thanks for messaging the Community!

Do you have the Dropbox desktop application installed on your machine? This will allow you to easily drag the folder from Explorer/Finder onto your external drive, thus freeing up the space on your account.

This will help me to assist further!

I still have to download the folder to the PC then do a drag to the external drive.

It's an extra step but it's doable.

Thanks
