Playing audio from the mobile app drops out for a second when using AirPods

Hello! I am a musician, I just returned from a studio where I was recording tracks, then received a set of MP3s from my audio engineer. They sound great, except when I play them from into AirPods Pro from the Dropbox app in both my iPhone or iPad, there's a significant hiccup, like a full audio dropout of a half second or second, right near the beginning, like in the first 5 or 10 seconds. The hiccup is not always in exactly the same place, but almost always near the beginning, and almost every time I play ithem back. Note that I cannot recreate this issue on the Mac, or when I play the files out in the open air on the phone/iPad, just through AirPods on phone/iPad. My wife is also able to recreate these hiccups with her phone & AirPods Pro playing the same MP3s.  Thoughts/ideas?

Hi Mike Titlebaum, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Does this occur with any other Bluetooth headphones?

If you mark the files as available offline, do you experience the same behavior?

Does it only occur on these MP3 files, or are all MP3 files affected?

This will help me to assist further!

Thanks! I've done a little more research based on your questions. Here's what's happening:

Other Bluetooth headphones are ok, no playback issues I've found.

AirPods Pro 2 with other MP3s do glitch the same way, with a hiccup/dropout near the beginning of the file.

    Does that help?

Also downloaded the files offline, have not yet gotten a glitch in the last 10 mins at least

Thanks for the info. As this does seem to be related to the AirPods, and not with the Dropbox mobile app, as it works normally with other headphones and when playing files normally, there isn't much we can assist with.

You could try contacting Apple support to see what could be causing this if there are any other settings or features that could be causing the AirPods to not play the music immediately. Some brief research on this matter has brought up discussion forums with other users experiencing similar behavior when playing audio on their phones in general with AirPods Pro.
