How can I see every folder in my Dropbox account in my macOS Finder?

Device
MacBook Air M4 2025
Operating System
15.2 (24C2101)

I recently upgraded from an ancient MacBook Air and had to re-link Dropbox with Finder.

There was a lot going on in the office that day and I thought someone said to just select the folders I wanted to "make available offline" - so I only selected a couple of my current working folders, instead of the whole darn thing. And now I only have access to those folders via Finder.

I can still access the files I need by downloading them from the Dropbox app, but that's not what I want. I want to be able to see everything in Finder (and then change the files I need to "make available offline")

How do I go back and correct this now? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox app, but it didn't give me those synchronisation (or whatever they were called) options this time.

This is what I see in the app (using Chrome)

And this is what I see in Finder:

But I want to see ALL the folders under Sketch Group in Finder.

Thanks in advance

Shelladmin

  • Hey Shelladmin, welcome to the Dropbox Community!

If I understand correctly, what's happened here is that you used our selective sync feature to only sync certain folders to your Dropbox folder.

No worries, though, it's an easy thing to amend; you'll need to go through the steps in this article and your folders should sync to your computer.

Let me know if that's not the case, or if you need anything else!

SOLVED - it was the "selective sync" feature and everything is good again

(all I needed was the correct language!)

    Thanks Hannah!!
