Why is my account out of quota now?
So I have been using Dropbox for years with no problems. All of a sudden, a message pops up that I am out of storage and that I am using 11.31 GB of 2 GB space and it stopped syncing my files. My free account had way more than 2 GB as evidenced by the fact that I was allowed to reach 11.31 at one point. Why all of a sudden am I out of storage? Seems like they lowered the storage space without notification. The minimum upgrade cost is $9.99 per month for 2,000 GB. I don't need that much and don't want to pay that amount when I only need a smaller amount of storage space.

Hi uscgrl93, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Is it possible that you had a promotional offer for temporary quota on your account, such as with the purchase of a new laptop?
Could you check your list of referrals and offers on this page to see if they appear there?
This will help me to assist further!

Looks like I had 100GB on a promotion. But shouldn't that mean I always keep that amount? It shouldn't drop below that and that is what happened.

Also, it looks like I should have had 3.75 GB prior to that and that is what it currently would be; however, it's show 2 GB. I just think the 100 GB should still be available. I don't need 2000.

The 100 GB promotional quota isn't permanent, and would last generally for 12 months, though it depends on the promotion.
Could you confirm the total amount of your quota according to this page?

It says, "Using 11 GB of 5.75 GB." I deleted a lot of large files (including pictures and videos) that should have dropped me below 11 but it never moved below that so not sure why deleting files isn't bringing my amount down.

It shows the below. But I have been deleting pictures and videos and it never drops below 11 so not sure why.
Your Personal Dropbox account is full: Using 11 GB of 5.75 GB
Regular files (11 GB)
Backup (0 bytes)
Replay (0 bytes)
Shared files (0 bytes)

Seems like my replies are not going through. It says, "Using 11 GB of 5.75 GB" but I have deleted photos and videos and it never drops below 11.

Hey uscgrl93, sorry for jumping in here.
Can you please go to your Homepage and calculate the size of the remaining files and folders you have there?
Please send us any relevant screenshots here of the results you’ll get and we’ll have a look.

That would take me a very long time to calculate manually. I know that I have about 11 GBs total and therefore over the current size limit. I just mean that when I do delete large files, it doesn't go down below 11. As I delete big video files, I should see that number shrinking down. I will try to delete some more larger files and see if it moves any.

The total amount of quota used would go down once files are deleted, though it might take a few minutes to reflect on the site.
Please could you delete some more files and let us know if the total quota usage changes on the Dropbox site?
