Can I disable downloads before sending a file in Dropbox basic for individuals?

Hi @lafillette2, let's jump right into this! 

I'm afraid that this isn't an option, if you're using a Basic plan. 

It all depends on how you wish to share your file, and your plan. If you're on a paid plan, you can use a shared link, and disable downloads using these steps.

You have the option to disable downloads on any paid plan. Dropbox Plus is the lowest paid plan for an individual. Standard is a Business plan, meant for teams of three or more.
