".pdf files are supported but something went wrong" error on website preview
I have tried opening in a different browser, in incognito, and going back in history with no luck... anyone that can help would be nice as I have a bunch of legal files I need to open asap
It has been resolved as I found the files in an old time machine back up

How large are they? Are they password protected?
Do they download, as it suggests, and open safely?

Not larger than other files that do open, no password protection and yes they download, but still can't open

Hey edeyoung75 - sorry to jump in here, but what is the exact error you're getting when trying to open those files locally on your device after downloading them from the website?

Please see above screenshot and title

Hey edeyoung75, Walter was talking about the reason why you can't open them after you download them to your computer; are you getting some kind of error message?
Also, is the size of the files within the preview size limit?

The screenshot shows a preview via the Dropbox website, not, from your computer. So download it and then try and open it. What happens?

Same error

Same error after I downloaded them, and the size is smaller than files I can open, so it's not a size issue.... I was able to open the files in this folder last year without issue... they are files I originally had on my other computer but had backed up on dropbox.... all other files are fine except these important ones... if someone on the dropbox staff could just renew the files from 2021 then they should be fine.... the problem is that they are legal files from my business... I was able to find the originals by going back in my email but only a couple out of the 10 on dropbox

Same error
Thats impossible.
The error is from your web browsers on the website. That error is only viewable and possible when you view a file direct from the Dropbox site.
If you download to say your desktop and then view it locally it will open up in something like Acrobat or in Chrome but using Chromes own viewers and so will not show up as being at www.dropbox.com.
