3 months after subscription cancelation, all my files were uploaded and I cannot retrieve them.

I have a Mac. I have canceled my subscription to DropBox a few months ago, but I left my files in the dropbox folder. A few days ago, all the files were uploaded and are not available offline anymore and they do not seem to download, how can I retrieve them offline?

On top of that, I get this message that my files represent nineteen hundred time my limit and that my files may be deleted. But I never asked for them to be all sucked online in the first place. This is distressing. Help would be very welcome, thanks,

Dropbox cannot upload if you are over quota, so, they already were uploaded - and it doesn't turn things Online Only without being asked (its a very common complaint that it DOESNT do this).

Can you mark them as Available Offline

Can you access them at www.dropbox.com/home?

Dropbox cannot do what its not told to do. What usually happens is, like most of us, we dont read prompts/menus/pop ups and just say yes to things, which, in Dropbox's case means agreeing that things are moved to its directory and they become sync'd to Dropbox. This may help reverse it.

Thanks a lot, I was worried about files being stuck on the cloud.I regularly see this message "You've used 9,794% of your free storage, and your files may be deleted to bring your account within the storage limits. We’ll always notify you before deleting your files. Upgrade now."

I understand that I have to move things out of the Dropbox folder so that they stop syncing, but I want to retrieve them first. And I ask for them to be made available offline, but it seems either slow or not working at all. Also, I have a VPN that kick in automatically and that seems to slow/stop downloads.

So I am waiting for folders to download and them move them out of Dropbox. Kind of a waiting game ;-)  Hopefully everything will be there. Thanks again.
