Can't download files from the Dropbox site using Safari on Mac OS
Using Safari Version 18.4 (18621.1.15.111.1, 18621) on an iMac running MacOS 13.7.5 (22H527).
Clicking the download button in the upper right of a file detail view does nothing. Tried clearing cache. Tried using a Private window. Tried restarting the iMac. Nada.

Hi Steven Lyons, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?
Otherwise, you can try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running?
Let me know how it goes!

Tried Private mode. No joy. I'd really like to use Safari. Are you saying that you are not supporting Safari?

We'd like to test it using a different browser to see if the issue is isolated to Safari, or any browser in general.
This way we know where to progress from there on.

Firefox works, Duck Duck Go has the same issue. I do not have Chrome on this machine.

Do you have any extensions or plugins running on Safari?
Could you try disabling them to see if this helps?

Im having the same issue. It started immediately on both my Mac systems after upgrading to MacOS 15.4, which upgraded Safari to 18.4 I guess. The download button on the dropbox web interface doesn't work inside Safari.
All extensions and plugins and content blockers disabled.
On Arc Browser, which is Chromium, it works fine.
It seems Apple broke something of yours.
I opened the Javascript console in Safari and it says in error "Not allowed to download due to sandboxing"

I only had the Dashlane extension installed. Disabling that extension did not change the behavior.

Thanks for the info, in order to look into this matter in more detail, I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate further.
