Can't open files stored on my computer unless I go to Dropbox online.
Can't open dropbox files stored on my computer unless I go on dropbox online. How can i access them from my computer?
Also, if my account is deleted how can I open the files that are clearly stored on my computer. If I try to open them an error shows up

Hey again @Samara Christopher, thanks for posting!
Would you mind clarifying if the same thing happens with all of your files, or just some of them?
Feel free to send me a screenshot of the error that you get when trying to preview them locally on the device too. Also, when did this start happening?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

It only happens with the synced files. I download the app so there's a dropbox folder in my file explorer. If I need to access a synced file I'd go online and download it. It's been happening for a few years but I didn't access the files that much to be too concerned. I jsut knew they were atleast stored somewhere. I'd send a screenshot but my laptop screen is broken at the moment. But it might say something like this

Hey @Samara Christopher, is this the error you see on your end when accessing your Dropbox folder, and double clicking on a file there?
If you quit our app, and then try to open the files do you get the same results?

Hey @Samara Christopher, did you make sure that the files were set to "available offline", meaning they were actually downloaded to the computer, before you deleted your account?
Or is it possible that they were in an "online-only" state?

i didn't delete my account, Dropbox did. I'm not sure if it was set to be made available offline, I currently don't have access to my computer to check.

If the behavior is present even when you quit the app, then it might not be our app that's causing it @Samara Christopher.
Would you mind sending me another screenshot of the content inside your Dropbox folder, in order for me to have a visual there?
Do you see any syncing icons next to the files, and also what is the app's current syncing status?
